Up for sale is a vintage Framed, hand crafted and mounted crewel embroidery from the JCA Needle Treasures Collection adapted from a design by Jan Hagara. It features a girl dressed in Victorian clothing holding her doll. She is just charming! What a great addition to any home or Jan Hagara collection.
This is a vintage colorart crewel picture. With colorart, the design is printed onto linen in this case and then enhanced with embroidery stitches. This picture has crewel embroidery. The areas embroidered are: Mandy's hat, the top of her dress and the bow. The ruffle at the bottom of her dress as well as parts of the doll's outfit.
The embroidery is done on linen. This vintage crewel dates to the late 1970s or early 1980s. This was the photo model used to take a picture that went on to the kit packages. That is what makes this so unique in that it is the actual model used for the photo that is on the package.
The picture of that  is also shown with this item for reference only as this embroidery does not come with a kit..
The size is 12 1/2 x 22 1/2. It is stretched and mounted onto plywood backing and is ready to hang on the wall.  There is a double mat with light tan on the outside of the mat and a darker tan on the inside and has a nice wooden frame. The kit number is #00559 and the title is MANDY. All the kits from this company were always made in the USA.
This embroidery picture has been tucked away all these years or might have been a model in a store to show prospective buyers how the embroidery picture will look when completed.
