    Description

Ranger School Patrol Cap Luminescent Tape Cat Eyes, from 1973.  These were by regulation one (1) inch long and one half (1/2) inch wide and sewn one (1) inch apart.  Sewn to the back of the Patrol Cap and when Name Tapes were added to Caps, to be sewn beginning at the top of the Name Tape.  Worn like Captains Bars for Rangers who were strong swimmers and not alergic to insect bites or bee stings.  When sewn with one "eye" or the other parallel to the ground they symbolize either a weak swimmer or alergic reactions to bee stings.  Larger ones one and one quarter (1 1/4) by three (3) inches were often used by Ranger Advisors (RA) Instructors in Ranger School.  Shown on a VS-17 Panel cut out to fit inside the Patrol Cap to enhance signaling and identification in the field.  The VS-17 cut out is available in another of my Auctions of Cool Guy Gear from the 1970's.  See Photos for further descriptions.  Ships via USPS First Class Mail.
